  • Whilst walking in Europe we have been impressed by the excellent refreshment facilities for walkers and well way-marked routes to follow. Teesdale could learn from this example and increase visitors to the area.

  • I'm encouraged that the Vision is going to invest in the town's streetscape. The Town Council will keep Barney clean and tidy. We need retailers to help too.

Glass Box Design

Designed by Xsite Architecture www.xsitearchitecture.co.uk the Vision Information Point is conceived of as a beacon and takes the form of a glass box. A minimal steel frame supports a series of vertical glass panels to form the two primary walls of the Box. These panels are facetted to describe a curve and are staggered in both plan and section. In addition the glass panels vary slightly in reflectivity. The combined effect is to reflect and reinterpret the surroundings in which the Box is sited. LCD screens within the Box create an electronic billboard.
