Health Campus

The Vision is researching ways to meet the demand for more day care for older and disabled people. This may involve a new development that provides housing for young essential healthcare workers, connected to a Centre for Research into Health and Manual Skills which would offer day care and activities as action research into the relevance of manual skills in the fields of health, social welfare, and community development. The campus may also provide a ‘crisis’ house to provide safe care for the acutely depressed.

We are also working with Hadrian Heathcare on the redevelopment of the former Richardson Hospital site into a £6 million state-of-the-art care home for the elderly.  A planning application has been submitted.  If this is approved construction will begin during 2008 and the facility will be open in 2009.  The development will deliver 50 new jobs.
