Leadership

We have extended the activity of the Leadership Forum.  The Forum was established in 2007 to bring together major players from different sectors locally, regionally and nationally to share in and develop the Vision, to build a bank of potential investors, to ensure private sector involvement and to achieve inspirational input from key public sector leaders.  

Following a successful programme of events in 2007-8, we are now working with UK Trade & Industry to find partners in France, Germany and Holland, to learn from best practice and bring expertise to Barnard Castle. We are working with commercial staff in the British embassies to organise an inward mission of key professionals and to develop reciprocal links.

The Forum is critical to ensuring that what happens in Barnard Castle learns from best practice elsewhere. It will provide an opportunity to influence and call upon the experience and knowledge of key stakeholders both regionally and nationally. It may also lead to the identification of potential private investors. In addition the Leadership Forum will act as important PR tool to communicate the work of the Vision nationally and internationally.

The Leadership Forum will also provide independent evaluation of the impact and success of the Vision.
