Meet the Team

Annalisa Ward

My vision is to make Barnard Castle the central and starting point for a visit to the surrounding area of Teesdale, with high quality facilities, interesting shops, places to eat and a range of events and festivals throughout the year.

Annalisa is an experienced marketing professional and project manager with previous experience in the charity, public and private sector. She started work at The Witham in 2006, developing its events programme and most recently the new cinema. She joined the Vision team in 2008 and still works part-time for The Witham. Annalisa is very interested in the development of cultural activities in the town and surrounding area and in making the town a vibrant and bustling shopping town. She plays a dual role within the team with part of her week spent running cinema and cultural events at The Witham and the other co-ordinating the Barney Guild, lighting and tourism projects for the Vision. Her family has lived in the area for the last 38 years and this is the place she calls home. She returned to the area just a few years ago to look after her mother, and her son will be starting secondary school this year. Through the Vision, she hopes to create an environment where he too might also be able to settle and build his future in the town.
